FLYING SYSTEM 57061 / 57071 FOR LOUDSPEAKER ARRAYS CERTIFIED TO BGV C1 (GUV – VC1)
For the suspension of speaker cabinets hung one below the other as an array, using steel wire ropes or chains and webbing straps.
The shallow sectioned steel flying plates 57061 containing a keyhole and safety catch are fitted from the inside to opposite sides of the speaker cabinet. Into these plates the “D-Rings” 57071 are inserted as a quick action locking attachment. The D- Ring has a cable spliced through its ring with a hook at the other end. This hook in turn connects to the next D-Ring in the column, or in the case of the uttermost cabinet to the frame. The frame and cabinets are suspended using a proprietary four legged chain.
Cabinets can be hung one below the other in a daisy-chain fashion. The number of cabinets that can be hung will depend on the weight of the particular cabinets being used.
The Safe Working Load (SWL) certified to BGV C1 of the flying plate 57061 is 100 kg. The Safe Working Load (SWL) certified to BGV C1 of the ring 57071 is 600 kg.
It should be observed that the D-Ring is subjected to two different loadings. The 600 kg SWL represents the maximum possible loading caused by one side of a complete vertical column of speaker cabinets. The loading on the pin and on the flying plate however will only ever be equivalent to the weight of one cabinet. In practise, this means that arrays with a total weight of up to 1200 kg, utilising speaker cabinets with a maximum weight of 200 kg each can be achieved.
Both parts of the set are machined from cold rolled billet stock with extensive use of CNC machine tools. Both the Flying Plate and the D-Ring are finished in KTL.
